Abstract
Auricular defects may result from congenital malformations, accident or trauma, or from tumor resections. Possible solutions for such defects have included hiding the defect with clothing, surgical reconstruction, or prosthetic fabrication. Craniofacial implants have been used successfully to assist in retaining auricular and extraoral prostheses.1–8 The use of implants with various bar designs, clips, magnets, and other retentive devices have aided in the stabilization and orientation of the prostheses.
