Abstract

Lai Park: A Bird of Passage in Exile is part of the Korean Oral History Project, edited by K.W. Lee, Dr. Luke Kim and Grace Kim. It was originally published in slightly different form in the September 2003 issue of KoreAm Journal. This story is the Sisyphus-like journey of unsung patriot Dung Lai Park, who traded a landloard's life under Japanese rule for lifelong stoop labor following the crops in California's fertile Central and Sacramento valleys.
