Abstract
This article discuses the evaluation of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library collection.The focus of evaluation is on book collections that have been cited by the lecturers in theirresearch activites. By using citation analysis, the objective of the evaluation is to measurehow the book collection at the Center Library of UIN Jakarta fulfill the information resourcesneeded by the lecturer (researcher) in the university. The population of this evaluation are allof books cited by the UIN Jakarta lecturers in their research report in 2014. The number ofthe population are 4.999 books (titles), and 539 titles of them (more than 10%) were taken assamples. The samples of the book have verified with the UIN Jakarta Center Library Catalog(TULIS) to ensure if the books are avalaible at the collection or not.The findingt of this research is among 539 books title, only 180 title (33%)are avalaible inthe UIN Jakarta Center Library collection. Thus the conclusion of the evaluation is that thecollection of books at UIN Jakarta Center Library are not fully support to the need of researchactivites in 2014.

Dalam rangka memenuhi kebutuhan sumber informasi bagi para seluruh sivitas akademika UIN Jakarta terkait program Tri Dharma perguruan tinggi (pendidikan/ pengajaran, penelitian, dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat) Pusat Perpustakaan UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta selalu berupaya keras mengembangkan berbagai jenis koleksi bahan pustaka baik sumber informasi tercetak (printed material)maupunbahanatau sumbersumber informasi non cetak (non-printed material). Pertanyaan yang muncul adalah apakah Pusat Perpustakaan UIN Jakarta sebagai research library sudah menyediakan sumber-sumber informasi atau bahan pustaka yang diperlukan dalam penelitian para dosen dengan jumlah yang memadai? Salah satu cara untuk menjawab pertanyaan di atas adalah dengan melakukan penilaian atau evaluasi terhadap koleksi yang telah tersedia di perpustakaan itu sendiri. Dari analisa sitiran tersebut diperoleh daftar rinci mengenai berbagai jenis sumber informasi yang dibutuhkan dalam penelitian, dan ini sesungguhnya merupakan upaya untuk mengetahui dan memetakan sumber informasi apa saja yang sesungguhnya dibutuhkan oleh para dosen di lingkungan UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta untuk mendukung penelitian mereka. Selanjutnya hasil dari need analysis yang berupa daftar rinci dari berbagai bentuk sumber informasi berupa daftar bibliografi tersebut diverifikasi ketersediaannya dalam koleksi Pusat Perpustakaan UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Hal ini merupakan salah satu cara untuk mengevaluasi atau mengukur sejauh mana kebutuhan riil akan sumber informasi tersebut tersedia di perpustakaan
