Abstract
This letter presents a novel dual-wideband Multiple-input Multiple-output (MIMO) antenna array with four antenna elements for octa-band (LTE700, GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS, LTE2300, and LTE2500) Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN)/Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile phones. The proposed antenna element consists of a driven branch and a grounded branch, generating several resonant modes which can provide dual-wideband impedance matching and wave radiation. The LC resonant network is added before the shorted point of grounded branch, to introduce an additional resonance mode which can greatly improve the low-frequency band bandwidth of the antenna elements. The impedance bandwidths of proposed antenna element with S 1l lower than −6 dB over 740–1000, 1700–2840 MHz are obtained. High isolation performances among the four antenna elements in the high-frequency band can be achieved to meet the requirements of LTE MIMO technology.
