Abstract

Over the past ten years we have witnessed the progressive implementation of a new television aesthetic which favors the decompartmentalization of the many discursive universes, the blending of genres and the underscoring of enunciation in act. The Quebecois teleroman did not escape this gestation. In fact, its immense popularity and its intrinsic characteristics have been used as a pretext to set it up as a preferred highway for the circulation of meanings. Different phenomena more or less linked to the teleroman per se, such as the wide circulation press, other television genres, advertising, commercial merchandizing and tourist attractions derived from the teleroman have grabbed our attention.
