Abstract

Muscle, ligament and tendon pains and discomfort are commonly observed during pregnancy. These musculoskeletal disorders are due to changes related to pregnancy, such as increased secretion of some hormones like estrogen or relaxin, weight gain or the position of the fetus…The three principal etiologies found are: pelvic pain, including osteitis pubis, acquired compressive nerve in relation with soft tissue changes, and tenosynovitis. The diagnosis is done thanks to symptoms. Most of the time, these pregnancy musculoskeletal disorders are regressive during the post-partum. Chronic pain is rare.
