Abstract

AbstractPhotonic crystal of packed monodisperse silica submicron spheres were synthesized in this article. We investigated the optical properties of packed monodisperse silica submicron spheres by means of both optical transmission and reflection measurements. Research suggests that the two methods are consistent in essence, and the reflection mode is more suitable for colloidal crystal assembled of smaller colloidal spheres. Accurately tuning of photonic band gap by incident light angle was also studied in our article. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
