Abstract

Neutron spin phase correction is an essential technique for achieving a high energy resolution in neutron spin-echo experiments. We propose a double-focusing geometry in which two identical ellipsoidal mirrors are arranged in series. This arrangement enables us to correct the path length differences for large divergent beams using a complete ellipsoidal focusing mirror. In this study, we evaluated the effectiveness of this geometry both analytically and numerically. A Fourier time of 1 μs is achievable using this geometry.
