Abstract

Dose and transmission factor values (TF) were measured for four typical radiotherapy treatments in which block protections are employed, using ionization chambers and thermoluminescent dosimetry. Dose calculations using Clarkson method and the hospital planning system were compared to the measurements. Transmission factor and dose mean values measured with ionization chamber and thermoluminescent dosimeters were statistically consistent, and differences between Clarkson method and treatment planning dose calculations showed up to 5% disagree. When experimental and theoretical doses are compared, differences up to 35% have been found.
