Abstract

The Effect of blending ratio between Poly (3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as donor electron and phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) on Nanoparticulate Organic Photovoltaic has been investigated. A series of P3HT:PCBM nanoparticle dispersions with blending ratio by mass of P3HT:PCBM 2:1, 1:1, and 1:2 were prepared as an active layer of nanoparticulate organic photovoltaic devices. The highest efficiency of booth pre-annealed and annealed P3HT:PCBM nanoparticulate organic photovoltaic devices is at blending ratio of 1:1. The highest efficiency was driven by the highest current density (Jsc) and the highest fill factor (FF) indicating that optimal balance between charge generation and charge transport occurred at blending ratio of 1:1.
