Abstract

Abstract In the central Pyrenees of Haute-Garonne and Ariege, France, dolomitization of the Devonian-Dinantian (Carboniferous) series in the axial zone appears to be clearly related to the Pyrenean faults, and is therefore epigenetic. In the massifs of the north Pyrenees, however, the dolomitization is more continuous and seems to be related to a particular stratigraphic level rather than to faults or fractures.
