Abstract
ABSTRACT Leaching of marine fossil shells from beach barrier sands with no major disruptions of primary sedimentary structures has been documented in a Pleistocene barrier environment. It is concluded that the absence of marine fossils within such sands cannot be used as evidence of their absence at the time of deposition.
