Abstract

The immune system plays a dual role in human health, functioningboth as a protector against pathogensand, at times, as a contributor to disease. This featureemphasizes the importanceto uncover the underlying causes of its malfunctions, necessitatingan in-depth analysisin both pathological and physiological conditionsto betterunderstand the immune system and immune disorders. Recent advancesin scientifictechnology have enabledextensive investigationsinto gene regulation, a crucialmechanismgoverningcellular functionality. Studying gene regulatory mechanisms within the immune system is a promising avenue for enhancingour understanding of immune cells and the immune systemas a whole. The gene regulatory mechanisms, revealed through various methodologies, and their implications in the field of immunology are discussed in this chapter.
