The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Women in Engineering Committee organized a virtual event for the 2022 International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) and was honored to host Lydia Kavraki, Katherine J. Kuchenbecker, and Vandi Verma as keynote speakers and panelists. These distinguished women have made significant contributions to the field of robotics and have been recognized for their exceptional achievements in research and education: they have all been past keynote or plenary speakers at a major international robotics conference. The presenters were invited to provide their valuable insights as women in the robotics field, engage with the attendees in meaningful conversations, and share their experiences and expertise. The event was held online in Gather, prior to the 2022 ICRA conference, to offer a platform for those unable to participate in the in-person event and to act as an icebreaker for early-career researchers who might be attending ICRA for the first time ( <xref ref-type="fig" rid="fig1" xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">Figure 1</xref> ). The event also enabled attendees to connect and network with other professionals in the field, as well as to contribute to the discussion on the critical topic of diversity and inclusivity in robotics.

Because of the travel restrictions between China and other countries of our keynote speaker, the 10th annual 2022 International Conference on Material Science and Environmental Engineering [MSEE2022] was held on November 25th, 2022 (Virtual Conference). The conference was held via Tencent Meeting Application. MSEE2022 aims to bring researchers, engineers, and students to the areas of Material Science and Environmental Engineering. MSEE2022 features unique mixed topics of Material Science and Advanced Materials, Material Engineering and Application, Environmental Science and Engineering and Mechanical Design and Technology.We received over 454 submissions from various parts of the world. The Technical Program Committee worked very hard to have all manuscripts reviewed before the review deadline. All the accepted papers have been submitted to strict peer-review, and selected based on originality, significance and clarity for the purpose of the conference. The conference program is extremely profound and featuring high-impact presentations of selected papers and additional late-breaking contributions. We sincerely hope that the conference would not only show the participants a broad overview of the latest research results on related fields, but also provide them with a significant platform for academic connection and exchange. There are five keynote speakers and four invited sessions. The keynote speakers are internationally recognized leading experts in their research fields, who have demonstrated outstanding proficiency and have achieved distinction in their profession. The proceedings would be published by IOP Journal of Physics Conference Series.We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the members of Technical Program Committee and organizers for their enthusiasm, time, and expertise. IAEA/WHO International Conference on Low Doses of Ionizing Radiation: Biological Effects and Regulatory Control, Seville, Spain, 17-21 November 1997 (IAEA-CN-67)

Radiological protection is based on the assumption that any additional exposure to ionizing radiation produces an increased risk of stochastic adverse health effects. The ICRP has adopted linear no-threshold (LNT) dose-response relationships to derive health risks associated with low doses of radiation and this implies that the risks of cancer and hereditary effects are directly proportional to the dose received, no matter how small the dose. The LNT assumption has been criticised over the years both by those who consider that it underestimates the risk and by those who believe that it is overly conservative. A few years ago, most of the pressure on ICRP came from those who believed that the risks per unit dose adopted at low doses were too small, but in recent years the pressure has been coming from the opposite direction. Strictly speaking, ICRP feels that the most likely form of the dose-response relationship for low LET radiation is linear-quadratic (i.e. sub-linear at low doses), and for cancer they approximate this by two linear relations, that for the low dose region having a slope (risk per unit dose) half of that for the high dose region, represented by a DDREF of 2. Nevertheless, there are those (particularly in the US and France) who argue that there is no direct evidence for stochastic effects being produced by low doses of radiation, and that the appropriate dose-response relationship has a threshold dose below which no risk to health exists, or even that low doses of radiation are beneficial (`radiation hormesis').

It is highly delighted to introduce the proceedings dedicated to the 2nd International Conference on Maritime Development (ICMaD 2023), which was successfully held on October 4-5, 2023 in Makassar, Indonesia and hosted by Research Centre, Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Makassar. ICMaD 2023 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of maritime environmental. The goal is to provide a forum for researchers, practitioners, academics, and stakeholders in building collaborative relationships and partnerships between governments, the maritime industry, academic institutions and the rest of the world in order to promote sustainable and efficient maritime development. About 150 participants from academic, high-education institutes and other organizations took part in the Conference. The conference model was divided into two sessions, including oral presentations and keynote speeches. In the first part, keynote speakers were each allocated 20 minutes to hold their speeches. Then in the second part, parallel sessions whose submissions the papers, were given 15 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. We were very honored to have Prof. Dr. Paul Tae Woo Lee from Ocean College, Zhejiang University, China and Prof. Ir. Dr. Ab Saman Abd Kader, P.Eng, MIEM, CILT from University Teknologi Malaysia. In the keynote presentation part, we invited two professors and three practitioner as our keynote speakers. The first keynote speaker, Dr. Capt. Antoni Arif Priadi, M.Sc. shared a speech: Eco port (environmental port) and Green shipping. The second keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Paul Tae Woo Lee, his presentation entitles Transforming Ports for a Sustainable Future: Embracing Smart Port Functions, Decarbonization, and Digitalization. The third keynote speaker , Prof Ir Dr Ab Saman Abd Kader, P.Eng, MIEM, CILT, Professor in Marine Transport and Safety his presentation entitled Smart and Green Solution on Port Operations. The four keynote speaker: Budi Cahyono, M.Sc shared a speech JICT digitalization journey commenced in 2001 until 2023 introducing Terminal Booking Systems (TBS) and Optical Character Recognized (OCR) platforms. The fifth keynote speaker, Captain Hari Subramaniam, M.B.A, from Singapore Office The Shipowners’ Club, Singapore, his presentation entitled Decarbonizing Shipping and Port. The proceedings present a selection of high-quality papers submitted to the conference by researchers from universities. All papers were subjected to peer-review by conference committee members. The papers were selected based on their quality and their relevance to the conference. The proceedings present recent advances in the fields of maritime environmental and other related research. I would like to express special gratitude to members of the conference committee and organizers of the conference. I would also like to thank the reviewers for their valuable time and advice which helped in improving the quality of the papers selected for presentation at the conference and for publication in the proceedings. The 2021 5th International Workshop on Renewable Energy and Development (IWRED 2021) was be held in the form of offline conference in Chengdu, China during April 23-25, 2021. IWRED 2021 focused on the renewable energy and development. The applications of renewable energy and development to such domains as Geothermal energy, Power system technology, Sustainability in process industries and Energy Security and Clean Use et al. It is a technical congregation where the latest theoretical and technological advances are presented and discussed. We expect that the conference and its publications will be a trigger for further related research and technology improvements in this important subject.The conference model was divided into four sessions, including oral presentations, keynote speeches, invited speeches and Q&A. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given 15 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second and three part, keynote speakers and invited speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. Finally, in the Q&A part, all participants were invited to join in academic groups to discuss and explore the academic issues after the presentations. The discussion session will last 30 minutes.More than 120 participants attended the conference. We are greatly honored to have invited Prof. Yinhui Zuo, from Chengdu University of Technology, China to serve as our Conference Chair. On this conference, three keynote speakers and an invited speaker had delivered their research works in area of Renewable Energy and Development. The first keynote speakers were Prof. Molang Cai, from North China Electric Power University, China. She delivered a wonderful speech: Strategies for Stability of Perovskite Solar Cells: Dynamical Regulation and Defects Control. The next keynote speakers were Prof. Shuihua Tang, from Southwest Petroleum University, China. She presented her latest research: Strategies for improving catalytic activity and stability of electrocatalysts in proton exchange membrane fuel cells. Prof. Tao Zhu, our third keynote speakers, from China university of mining and technology (Beijing), China, made a wonderful speech: Research on High-efficiency Utilization Technology of Coal Mine Ventilation Gas (Methane). In the invited speeches part, we were glad to invited Prof. Peigao Duan, from Xi’ an Jiaotong University, China as our invited speaker. He delivered a speech on Hydro-upgrading of algal biocrude in tetralin for the production of high-quality liquid fuel: process intensification. We would like to especially thank all the keynote speakers who shared their latest research results with the audience.IWRED 2021 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Renewable Energy and Development to a common forum. Therefore, we compiled a lot of excellent papers featuring the latest advanced studies on the following topics: Renewable Energy, Sustainable Development and other related topics. All the papers have been through rigorous review and process to meet the requirements of International publication standard.We would like to acknowledge all of those who have supported IWRED 2021. Women’s representation at Turkish endodontic society meetings

Purpose: This observational study aimed to evaluate the percentage of women invited to speak or present oral presentations at the Turkish Endodontic Society's scientific meetings over a 10-year period (2014)(2015)(2016)(2017)(2018)(2019)(2020)(2021)(2022)(2023)(2024). Methods:The number of male and female keynote or oral presentation speakers from the society's scientific meetings was recorded.Gender distribution and yearly ratios were analyzed using SPSS 25 with Binomial test, Chi-square, and Fisher's Exact test (p < 0.05).Results: A total of 136 speakers from the Turkish Endodontic Society's scientific meetings between 2014 and 2024 were analyzed.Of these, 103 (75.7%) were men, and 33 (24.3%) were women, highlighting a significant gender disparity (p < 0.001).No significant change was observed in the proportion of women speakers over the analyzed timeframe (p = 0.134). Conclusion:Regardless of the timeframe, the number of women speakers at scientific meetings organized by the Turkish Endodontic Society remains consistently lower than that of men.While the proportion of women presenting oral sessions was relatively higher, their representation as keynote speakers on the main stage consistently remained low throughout the analyzed period.

The first keynote speaker, Dr. Sunil Kumar Jha, from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China. He presented a speech: Data Fusion Approaches in Human Body Odor Data Mining. The objective of the present research talk is to introduce audience about the data fusion and human body odor and to demonstrate research results related to search for an optimal subset of VOCs in body odor, which can produce differentiation in an individual by using the combination of analytical methods and chemometric analysis. The second keynote speaker, Prof. Chunbo Xiu, from Tiangong University, China. He shared a speech on his specialty related to Memristive Cellular Neural Network & Its Dynamic Characteristic Analysis. He demonstrated that chaotic memristive CNN system can be used in the secure communication by the chaos synchronization based on sliding mode control. Assoc. Prof. Pavel Loskot, from Zhejiang University-University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institute (ZJUI), our third keynote speakers. He presented a speech: Monte Carlo Simulations Revisited. Their insightful speeches made every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful knowledge.We were glad to share with you that we received lots of submissions from the conference and we selected a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewed them. These papers feature following topics but are not limited to: Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and other related topics. The primary goal of the conference is to promote research and developmental activities in Power Electronics and Power Transmission and another goal is to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working all around the world. The conference will be held every year to make it an ideal platform for people to share views and experiences in Power Electronics and Power Transmission and related areas.The conference model was divided into two sessions, including oral presentations and keynote speeches. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given 15 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. More than 100 participants attended the meeting. There were over 20 experts and scholars in the area of Power Electronics and Power Transmission representing different famous universities and institutes around the globe to form Conference Committees.In the keynote presentation part, we invited three professors as our keynote speakers. The first keynote speakers, Assoc. Prof. Jinsong Tao, from School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Wuhan University, China was invited to present his talk Operation Mode Analysis and Coordinated Control Strategy Research of Multi-terminal Network with DC Microgrid. Assoc. Prof. Sohrab MIRSAEIDI, from Beijing Jiaotong University, China was our second keynote speakers. He presented a talk: Improvement of Capacitor-Commutated-Converter-Based and Fault-Current-Limiting-Based Commutation Failure Prevention Approaches in HVDC Transmission Networks. In this talk, the structure of an improved Controllable Commutation Failure Inhibitor (CCFI) is presented which obviates the main drawbacks of the existing capacitor-commutated-converter-based and fault-current-limiting-based strategies. Assoc. Prof. ANWAR ALI, from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, China as our finale keynote speakers. He delivered a speech: Design and Development of a Small Satellite Subsystems-AraMiS-C1. We are glad to share with you that we received lots of submissions from the conference and we selected a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewed them. These papers feature following topics but are not limited to: 1. Power Electronic Technology. 2. Electric Power System. The second keynote speaker, Prof. David BASSIR, from University of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (UTBM) & Researcher at ENS-CMLA. The others three keynote speakers were as listed: Prof. Qixin Cao, from Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Prof. Liang Yan, from Beihang University Prof. Deping Yu, from Sichuan University; Prof. Huajun Cao, from Chongqing University.The proceedings present a selection of high-quality papers submitted to the conference by researchers from universities, research institutes, and industry. ACTION/INTERACTION: BOOK/ARTS COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO CENTER FOR BOOK AND PAPER ARTS CHICAGO, ILLINOIS JUNE 8-10, 2007 The Action/Interaction: Book/Arts conference consisted of a major invitational exhibition, three keynote conference speakers, eight guided discussion sessions, an open mic night for readings and performance works, and one technical presentation. In its first year as a source for the book arts community, the conference completely subsumed the Festival of the the third fair hosted by Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper Arts. Action/Interaction was a relatively open environment offering opportunities to engage through dialogue. For an audience accustomed to hearing about book craft, channels were opened to include other media's influence. Discussion leaders and attendees began to address the book medium's relations outside its own social bounds as well. Action/Interaction's first keynote speaker, Audrey Niffenegger, is known among book artists for her hand-colored etchings with aquatint that make for fictions of mostly pictures. Since the publication of a bestseller, The Time Traveler's Wife (2004), Niffenegger has become better known as a novelist. Nifenegger spoke to the differences between her projects of pure writing versus predominately image-based books, such as The Three Incestuous Sisters: An Illustrated Novel (2005), which was published by Harry N. Abrams Inc. in a much larger edition than viable using hand-printed methods. Terminology remains a central point of departure as evident from the session Shaping a New Critical Discourse for the Field, lead by Mary Tasillo of UArts, as well as Beyond Artifacts: Book Arts as Practice, lead by Andrew Eason of University of West England. In yet another parallel discussion session, Crossing Boundaries: New Conceptions for the Book, moderator Jonathan Lill's (Museum of Modern Art Archives) approach was to phenomenologically compare artists' books to other media like architecture and monumental sculpture in a lively philosophical debate. We gratefully acknowledge the presence of all participants on the 2021 International Conference on Mechanical Automation and Electronic Information Engineering (MAEIE 2021), which was successfully held in Zhuhai from 24th to 26th September, 2021. MAEIE 2021 aimed to provide a platform for experts and scholars, engineers and technicians, and R&D personnel to share scientific research results and cutting-edge technologies, understand academic development trends, broaden research ideas, strengthen academic research and discussion, and promote cooperation in the industrialization of academic results. MAEIE 2021 focused on professional fields such as Mechanical Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Information Processing, Information Engineering, etc.About 80 participants from academic, high-education institutes and other organizations took part in the conference. The conference model was divided into two sessions, including oral presentations and keynote speeches. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given 15 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches.In the keynote presentation part, we invited 12 professors as our keynote speakers. The first keynote speaker, Prof. Junlong Chen, IEEE Fellow, from South China University of Technology, China. The second keynote speaker, Prof. Guoliang Chen, from Shenzhen University, China. Prof. Zhengtian Fang, from University of Macau, China. They had outstanding research in Mechanical Automation and Electronic Information Engineering and other related area.The proceedings present a selection of high-quality papers submitted to the conference by researchers from universities, research institutes, and industry. ICSEIE 2024 The International Conference on Sustainable Energy, Infrastructure, and Environment 2024 (ICSEIE 2024) was held in Putrajaya, Malaysia, from 14 to 15 October 2024, with the theme “ Embracing Sustainability: Accelerating Energy Transition for a Greener Tomorrow ”. ICSEIE 2024 was organized by AAIBE Chair for Renewable Energy at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Institute of Sustainable Energy (ISE). The conference co-organizers include Institute of Energy Infrastructure (IEI) and Institute of Energy Policy and Research (IEPRe) from UNITEN, UM Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC) from Universiti Malaya, and Sunway University. ICSEIE 2024 also received additional support from TNB Research, Yayasan Canselor at UNITEN, UNITEN Ventures, and MYCOLD Malaysia. ICSEIE 2024 marked the maiden voyage for the ICSEIE Conferences, and had received tremendous support and crowd from the Ministry, prominent companies, as well as local and international universities. ICSEIE 2024 welcomed more than 350 participants from five different countries, including Malaysia, Iraq, Oman, France, and Australia. The majority of the participants hailed from Malaysia. The conference served as a platform for like-minded individuals and organizations to come together to share knowledge, explore advancements, forge collaborations, address critical challenges, and inspire action toward driving energy transition forward in Malaysia. Apart from the keynote and invited speeches, a forum was also held with the theme “ Bridging Industry and Academia: Driving Energy Sustainability through Innovation and Collaboration ”, with Prof. Ir. The 2nd International Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development (The 2nd ICARD) The 2nd International Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development (The 2nd ICARD) had a theme “The Challenges of Sustainable Agriculture in the New Normal Era”. The conference was still held during the pandemic of covid-19 due to the great enthusiasm to have an event discussing the covid-19 impacts on agriculture, food, and rural livelihood. The travel restriction was also the reason to carry out the conference via online platform. Thus, it proceeded as the original agenda.The 2nd ICARD was held on 16 November 2020 and organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (Untirta), Indonesia. It also became the framework of collaboration among the Faculty of Agriculture Untirta, Kazan National Research Technological University-Rusia, Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources-Iran and Universiti Teknologi MARA-Malaysia. The main sponsors of this conference were the Ministry of Education and Culture, and Indonesia agronomist association (PERAGI).The 2nd ICARD was managed properly with virtual meeting and arranged into two sessions; they were oral presentations from keynote speakers as a plenary session and scholar presenters as a parallel session. In the first session, the respective keynote speaker was each allocated 40 minutes to hold the speech consist of 30 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion (Q and A). Four keynote speakers contributed to the plenary session. Assist. Prof. Dr. Yudi L.A. Salampessy from Untirta was talking about Mining and Biodiversity Comics Publishing to the Elementary School Students around Mine Areas. Also, our beloved keynote speaker Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saed Gorgin, from Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Iran, was presenting his study on the Strategy of Shelf-Life Extension to Keep the Quality of Conical Lift net Catch for Sustainability in New Normal Era. Furthermore, the third keynote speaker from Malaysia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asmah Awal (Universiti Teknologi MARA) was giving a great valuable presentation about Sugar Palm (Arenga pinnata Wurmb Merr.): A Review on Plant Tissue Culture Techniques for Effective Breeding. Moreover, our last keynote speaker Assoc. Prof. Elena Nikitina, Ph.D from Kazan National Research Technological University, Rusia, shared her study about Potato Starch as a Component Increasing the Antioxidant Potential of Yogurt. In the second session, the scholar presenters whose had submitted the selected paper were conferred 15 minutes including Q and A to speech the presentation one by one.
