Abstract

Irradiation of dye solution by a sufficiently intensive light of wavelength in the absorption band results in a change in populations of the ground and excited states of molecules. This causes a change in the optical characteristics of the solution-absorption (amplitude response) and refractive index [1] (phase response). Por a quantitative analysis of ultrashort light pulse propagation in solutions, it is necassary to know how optical properties of solutions affected by light, change in a wide frequency range which exceeds both both the spectral width of pulses and possible range of their wavelength tuning, i.e. to know the dispersion of amplitude and phase responses of dye solutions.
