Abstract

ABSTRACT Intrauterine contraceptives are the most frequently used reversible family planning method in the world. The method is safe, rapidly reversible, inexpensive, highly effective, long lasting and nonhormonal. These attributes make it unique and desirable for many users. Inspite of all these characters and high initial acceptance, discontinuation remains high. We conducted this study among IUCD users at our department, a tertiary health care centre to determine discontinuation rate and causes for its discontinuation.
