Abstract

Exact analytical cross sections for direct radiative recombination (DRR) on nS, nP and nD states with arbitrary principal quantum number n are obtained in the non-relativistic Coulomb dipole approximation. They may be used in the case of DRR on the Rydberg states of N-electrons ions by considering the ionic charge Zeff=Z-N instead of the atomic charge Z. Numerical values of the cross sections are given for a large range of incoming electron energies and ionic changes, involving nuclear fusion plasma.
