Abstract

Human Immuno-deficiency Virus (HIV) infection is an infection that can progressed to be Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome ( AIDS). The countries in Southeast Asia are quite vulnerable to HIV/AIDS and the expenditure of HIV-AIDS treatment requires huge cost, so the analysis of cost for people with HIV/AIDS needs to be done to give an idea of the average costs ofHIV treatment in Southeast Asia.This review article aimed to give an overview of expenditure costs in HIV/AIDS treatment in South-East countries.Literature review choose Indonesia and Vietnam asthe representative of Southeast Asia. Literature review was conducted with keywords “ HIV-AIDS treatment cost in South-East Asia” based on publication at PubMed, Biomedcentral AIDSinfo, aeaweb.org , Dovepress.com , icad-cisd.com , IMF, UNAIDS , Unicef, WHO and Google search. The result showed that direct health cost in Indonesia USD 2043.45 and in Vietnam USD 716.92, and the conclusion is Direct health cost for HIV-AIDS patients in South East Asia are variable.
