Abstract
Abstract Electron acceleration by two crossed linearly polarized Hermite–Gaussian laser beams in vacuum has been proposed and investigated in the Letter. The laser fields have the same amplitude and frequency. To accelerate electrons along z -axis directly, the necessary conditions and energy gain expressions are given.
