Abstract

Diketones are an intriguing building block that has a lot of applications in synthetic chemistry and they are one of the most often utilised intermediates in organic synthesis. It is impossible to exaggerate the relevance of diketones in synthetic organic chemistry. They are promising for application in a variety of human activities due to their accessibility, stability, and frequently distinctive features. Because of their high reactivity, diketones may be used to create a wide range of organic compounds, including some that are structurally similar to natural ones. The synthesis of diketones and the products produced from diketones are discussed in this review paper.
