In light of growing concern regarding the planet’s environmental future, it is important for companies to prioritize sustainable development (SD) in their digital transformation (DT) initiatives, driving growth that is both environmentally responsible and technologically advanced. The aim of this study is to document and synthesize the trends in the field of DT and SD over the period of time. By analysing 976 Scopus-indexed documents, the review uncovers a rapidly growing body of literature. The literature is globally diverse, with notable contributions from both developing and developed countries. Citation analysis identified key authors and influential works that have played an important role in shaping this field. An author co-citation analysis and keyword co-occurrence analysis support these findings, highlighting the conceptual framework of the DT and SD domain. The systematic process of mapping and analysing data helps identify key research areas, crucial research topics, the evolution of publications over time, countries, collaboration across authors, co-occurrence of authors’ keywords and potential avenues for future research. A lot of individuals in the field are directly affected by this study, for instance, consultants, managers and policy-makers.

Background: Tourists are influenced by pricing effects when deciding to buy a specific product. As this research field continues to evolve, this study reviewed the tourist’s process of price information and tourists’ behavior of related literature, focusing on the analysis of general price decisions theory and highlighting its empirical study with information processing. This study aims to review tourist literatures on price processes and behavior, and identify research term networks and active research countries based on previous literature. Method: The articles found in the ISI Web of Science database were reviewed using bibliometric analysis, focusing on the literatures on price decisions about tourists published in the top 20 marketing journals. We analyzed the bibliographic data through a quantitative analysis approach and a knowledge mapping technique using bibliometric data. Knowledge mapping was performed using VOS viewer (V1.6.6), focalizing on “link strength” of networks based on author keywords, and the text corpus (title and abstract). To identify emerging terms, we manually edited the thesaurus list to exclude the general terms such as tourist, market and category and to avoid irrelevant terms (i.e., pricing strategy, price competition, industry or BOB pricing). We used the full counting method to produce co-occurrence networks of the most-used terms for author and corpus text keyword with a minimum of 2 occurrences for each term, and make the heat hap of active countries publishing about price decisions by tourists. Conclusion: It was found that USA and Germany are leading price decision research about tourists, and Current research focuses on tourists' response to a single price information and ignoring price affect during tourists’ decisions, which is assumed to be in a non-updated and certain information state. Therefore, it is encouraged that the growing community of researchers reveal the dynamical tourist’s price decisions under uncertain with a dual system (cognitive and affect) in the future.

  • Philip Hallinger + 1 more

This review has two purposes. First, we document the body of knowledge that has accumulated in Educational Management, Administration & Leadership over its five decades of publication. Second, we seek to identify the distinctive contributions of Educational Management, Administration & Leadership as a research journal in educational leadership and management. The review employed the bibliometric method in order to analyze the forms of corpus of 1438 articles published in Educational Management, Administration & Leadership between 1972 and the end of 2020. Bibliometric analyses used to document and assess the Educational Management, Administration & Leadership corpus included descriptive statistics, document citation and co-citation analysis, author co-citation analysis and keyword analysis. The review found that articles authored outside the UK have continued to grow as a proportion of the journal’s annual volume, thereby strengthening Educational Management, Administration & Leadership ’s status as an ‘international educational leadership journal’. Document and keyword analyses found that ‘leadership’ has supplanted ‘administration’ and ‘management’ as the dominant driver in Educational Management, Administration & Leadership content since 2012. These analyses further affirmed the continuing strength of the journal’s conceptual contributions to the literature as well as its publication of a significant set of papers on shared forms of leadership. The review highlighted two areas for Educational Management, Administration & Leadership ’s future development: further enhancing its citation impact and managing the growth of its international contributions.

  • Josiah T Masuka

Most global pharmacovigilance (PV) data is derived from developed countries. However, the determinants of the differences in PV research output between developing and developed countries contributing to this discrepancy still need to be explored. The objective of the current study is to describe the publication trends and characteristics of pharmacovigilance-related research stemming out of Africa in comparison to that emanating from developed countries. A bibliometric analysis was carried out using the SCOPUS literature index for published global pharmacovigilance-related articles or documents pre-COVID-19. Data on annual publication trends, citations, author affiliations, and other study characteristics such as study funding were extracted and descriptively analyzed. Author co-citation and keyword co-occurrence analyses were also conducted and presented using VOSviewer software program version 1.6.15 (CWTS, Universiteit Leiden, Netherlands). During the period under review, a total of 27,516 documents were retrieved globally. Out of these, 588 (2.1 %), 9,438 (34.3 %), and 17,829 (64.8 %) were from Africa, Europe, and the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) founder member countries respectively. Annual publications have steadily increased, but at a slower rate in Africa compared to Europe. The mean annual publications and number of citations are significantly lower in Africa compared to Europe, p < 0.0001 for both parameters. The top 10 funders of African PV activities are European and American organizations. In conclusion, improved PV activity driven by international funders has been notable on the African continent. However, there is an increased need for local funding, government involvement, and legislation to improve PV activities on the African continent.

Greenhouse gas from rice production has become a great concern and the focus of a lot of research in recent years. The main aim of the study was to explore the research trend of GHG emissions from rice production by exploring the research hotspots and providing suggestions for future research directions over the period 1991 to 2020. A bibliometric analysis was conducted using the Scopus database, and the sample included 2535 articles. The methodology was based on descriptive analysis, co-occurrence analysis, factorial analysis, word dynamic over time, and the author's keyword analysis over time. The results indicate a remarkable increase in the number of articles published on this topic, mainly in the journals of "Agriculture," "Ecosystems," and "Environment." The main authors were Conrad R. and Wassmann R. Relating to the number of published articles, very few were contributed by African countries, whereas China, Japan, and India were the main contributors. The co-occurrence analysis showed that rice, methane, and nitrous oxide are the core keywords of the network. The multiple factorial analysis pointed out that greenhouse gas emissions from rice production depend on the farming practices, the environmental factors, and the plant growth as well. The evolutionary path showed that the current author's keywords are more related to global warming potential, climate change, and biochar. The findings of this review can help researchers and scholars by providing a better overview of development trends that have emerged over the past 30years and suggestions for the future direction in this field.

Introduction.Modern company cases clearly demonstrate the focus of industrial enterprise management on digital transformation and ensuring sustainable development, which are usually implemented independently of each other. However, it should be taken into consideration that the combination of these processes at an enterprise often produces a synergistic effect. The aim of the study is to build conceptual models of interaction and interpenetration of digital transformation and sustainable development in the management of digital development of an industrial enterprise. Methods. The study employed the methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization and graphical modeling. The findings of Russian and foreign researchers published in highly rated scientific journals, as well as data from official websites of organizations were used. Results. Based on current views in the field of digital technologies and the ESG approach, the author proposes conceptual models of integration (interpenetration) of digital transformation and sustainable development of an industrial enterprise. The author's interpretation of the notions "responsible digitaldevelopment of an industrial enterprise" and "sustainable digital development of an industrial enterprise" is presented from the position of directing the organization's sustainable development goals (when focusing on a specific type of responsibility or in the absence of such a preference). The author uses the terms "sustainable ESG development" and "ESG-sustainable digital transformation" to designate the development that meets the ESG principles. It is indicated that the situational prioritization of one or two ESG principles is manifested in the implementation of digital ESG-responsible development and digital ESG-responsible transformation by the enterprise management. Conclusion. The scientific novelty of the results obtained lies in the development of relevant and allowable practical application in corporate management models that take into account the scientific and characteristic concepts of sustainable development and digital transformation of enterprises. The proposed set of terms is complete, since it takes into account all possible combinations of digital transformation and sustainable development of the enterprise. The introduction of the author's conceptual models into the management system of an industrial enterprise will enable organizations to comply with the global focus on digitalization and sustainable development. Orientation towards the proposed models will help managers maintain and strengthen competitive advantages, as well as ensure sustainable growth of their organizations.

Research trends in the field of the gut-brain interaction: Functional dyspepsia in the spotlight - An integrated bibliometric and science mapping approach.
  • Mar 8, 2023
  • Frontiers in Neuroscience
  • Tai Zhang + 6 more

This study aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of functional dyspepsia (FD), which includes visualizing bibliographic information, in order to identify prevailing study themes, topics of interest, contributing journals, countries, institutions, and authors as well as co-citation patterns. The Web of Science™ Core Collection Database was used to retrieve all peer-reviewed scientific publications related to FD research. The validated search terms were entered into the "title" and "author keywords" fields, and the results were sorted by publication year from 2006 to 2022. There were no restrictions on language. On 12 February 2023, a manual export of the complete metadata for each original publication and review article was performed. CiteSpace was used to reveal co-authorship, publication, and co-citation patterns to find prominent authors, organizations, countries, and journals in FD research as well as to identify author keywords with strong citation bursts, which could indicate an emerging research area. VOSviewer was used to build the co-occurrence indicator (co-word) to identify the main author keywords on which previous studies focused and to induce clustered scientific landscape for two consecutive periods to identify intriguing areas for future research. A search of the database retrieved 2,957 documents. There was a wave-like pattern in the number of publications until 2017, after which there was a spike in publication volume. The USA, China, and Japan provided the majority of contributions. In terms of institution, Mayo Clin, Univ Newcastle, and Katholieke Univ Leuven were found to be the prolific institutions. Additionally, the results indicate that eastern Asian researchers contributed significantly to the global knowledge of literature that led other countries; however, Canada, the USA, Australia, England, and Germany were found to have the highest degree of betweenness centrality. Nicholas J. Talley, Jan Tack, Gerald Holtmann, Michael Camilleri, Ken Haruma, and Paul Moayyedi occupied the top positions based on productivity and centrality indicators. Six thematic clusters emerged (Helicobacter pylori infection; pathophysiological mechanisms of FD; extraintestinal co-morbidities and overlap syndromes associated with FD; herbal medicine in FD; diabetic gastroparesis; and dietary factors in FD). "Acupuncture," "duodenal eosinophilia," "gut microbiota," and others were among the author keywords with rising prevalence. In FD research, eastern Asian countries have established themselves as major contributors with the highest publishing productivity; however, research has primarily been driven by North America, Europe, and Australia, where cooperation is generally more active and highly influential scientific results are produced. Our analysis suggests that increased investments, training of human resources, improved infrastructures, and expanded collaborations are essential to improving the quality of FD research in Asia. The emerging author keyword analysis suggests that eosinophil-mast cell axis, gut microbiota, mental disorders, and acupuncture are the key areas that attract researchers' attention as future research boulevards. There is a highly skewed distribution of research output across Asia, with most focus on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) coming from Chinese, Japanese, and South Korean centers. However, CAM remains an underexplored area of research in the context of FD, and it deserves greater research efforts in order to obtain quality scientific evidence. Furthermore, we propose that the research framework of CAM should not be limited to dysmotility; rather, it could be interpreted within a more holistic context that includes the brain-gut-microbiota axis, as well as novel concepts such as duodenitis, increased mucosal permeability, and infiltration and activation of eosinophils and mast cells, among others. Overall, we provided bibliometrics-based overviews of relevant literature to researchers from different backgrounds and healthcare professionals to provide an in-depth overview of major trends in FD research.

  • Sustainability
  • Inese Mavlutova + 5 more

The increase in studies on how digital transformation based on the application of digital technologies affects the sustainable development of various sectors of the economy has been observed. Although digital transformation is important for the financial sector sustainable development, the drivers and links between them are weakly addressed by researchers. The study is aimed at exploring how digital transformation due to the application of innovative technologies and solutions, especially digital payments, is leading to the financial sector sustainable development through financial inclusion and operational efficiency. The current research presents the study of the financial sector digital transformation and its sustainable development based on a systematic literature review, a secondary data analysis, and expert interviews to provide further research directions and draw practical suggestions for professionals on the financial sector digital transformation toward sustainable development in the future. A systematic literature analysis is performed based on text analytics, a bibliometric analysis, and network maps aimed at acknowledging the existing research outcomes and identifying the research gaps on the digital transformation agenda in the financial sector. The collected data on the digital payments’ dynamic in the EU were analyzed with the use of statistical methods, including a correlation and regression analysis. Structured expert interviews were used to validate research findings and to highlight key issues of the digital transformation in the financial sector of Baltic countries. The authors have paid special attention to the sustainable development of the financial sector’s economic dimension and its efficiency indicators, such as financial inclusion and digital payments’ intensity. A social dimension is limited toward financial inclusion based on digital payments’ offering. The research results indicated recent trends in digital transformation and types of usage of digital technologies in the EU and Baltic countries to ensure the sustainable development of financial institutions. Furthermore, the results revealed a significant increase in the digital payments’ intensity during the last years in the EU, as well as a close relationship between digital payments with financial inclusion and operational efficiency of financial institutions.

An empirical assessment of the influence of digital transformation on sports corporate sustainability
  • Apr 18, 2024
  • PLOS ONE
  • Haixia Wang + 3 more

The trend of digital transformation fosters enterprise change, helps cultivate enterprises’ own competitive advantages and is crucial to the advancement of sports enterprises’ sustainable development in the framework of the emerging digital economy as a national strategy. However, there have been few empirical studies on the microlevel of digital transformation and its impact on the sustainability of sports organizations. Therefore, the sustainable growth dynamic model is used to construct indicators of corporate sustainability by referencing 48 sports corporations listed on Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares markets and the New Third Board in China from 2012 to 2021. The intrinsic relationship between digital transformation and the sustainable development of sports enterprises and the underlying mechanism of action are explored by constructing a panel fixed effects model, a chain mediating effects model, and a panel threshold model. The most important contribution is as follows: To provide a useful reference for analyzing enterprise digital transformation, a more complete indicator indicating the extent of corporate digital transformation is built. The micro viewpoint broadens our awareness of sustainable development in sports organizations and deepens our understanding of the interaction model between sustainable development and enterprise digital transformation. This study provides methodical evidence and insights for an accurate understanding of digital transformation for sustainable enterprise development, looking into the "black box" of the mechanism between digital transformation and sustainable business development. The results show that digital transformation significantly aids sports enterprises in their pursuit of long-term sustainability. Heterogeneity tests demonstrate the pivotal role of digital transformation in advancing the sustained growth of sports firms and high-tech sports enterprises situated in the eastern region of China. Regarding transmission mechanisms, the chain mediating effect of enterprises’ digital transformation on improved technological innovation and TFP, which in turn promote long-term business growth, has yet to be validated. Further examination exposes that within the context of the correlation between digital transformation and the sustainability of corporations, there is a single threshold effect based on financing restrictions and operational costs and a double threshold effect based on operational efficiency.
