Abstract

In the following study the author makes an attempt to comprehend the experience and prospects of digital humanities at the present stage. The humanities are presented in comparison with the technical sciences. Some thoughts have been expressed regarding the crisis of humanitarian knowledge and the possibilities of overcoming it through the use of technology. Journalism is presented as a field of humanities, which today is noticeably losing its position due to the emergence of new media, mostly technology­oriented. As conclusions, the article talks about the responsibility of humanities scholars for the state of humanitarian knowledge in the modern world and the need to consider technology as a tool with the help of which content is packaged and delivered to the audience, the role of which should not be exaggerated. In conclusion, it is said that modern realities give rise to a new format of research, characterized by multidimensional interdisciplinarity. Their goal is to identify and analyze problems in the field of digital humanities, as well as to create pathways for organizing intercultural dialogue among scientists specializing in the humanities and technical sciences.
