Abstract
Abstract: This Digital Collection compiles twenty-nine of Tree Elven's weekly newsletters contextualizing international commercials for advertising agency and university subscribers to the ADDS Project newsletter in 2020 and 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its immediacy transports readers back to moments and momentums in the two weeks that became two years. COVID was a game changer at individual and international levels, suffusing mainstream media. Trust became a shifting landscape, brands shifted their ground, and advertisers, like so many others, saw their business fall off a cliff. Not all the ads are about COVID: many are surprising reminders of what else was going on in the world during this time. This digital collection, thus, preserves advertising and responses to it in the time of COVID as so many around the world tried to figure things out.
