Abstract

Study of the incommensurate phase of solid solution [thiourea]1-x[urea]x is made by means of X-ray diffraction. The modulation wave of the incommensurate phase is affected by the replacement of thiourea molecule with urea molecule, so that the two equivalent modulated sublattices become non-equivalent ones and slight polar atomic arrangements are resulted. Hydrogen donds in thiourea crystal take a share in the short range interactions necessary for the appearance of the modulation wave.
