Abstract
The dielectronic recombination (DR) cross section for 1s excitation is estimated for the Ca 12+ (oxygen-like) target. The ratios of the resonance peaks corresponding to capture into states with n=2 and n⩾3 are compared with results from a recent experiment of resonant transfer excitation (RTE) for the 20Ca 12++H 2 system, dramatically confirming the relationship between DR and RTE.
