Abstract

The Sciarid flies from Saxonian Amber of Lower Miocene of Bitterfeld/Germany (Diptera, Sciaridae) From the Saxonian amber of the lower Miocene of the opencast mining area in Bitterfeld there are specified 32 species of sciarids of 6 genera. The genus Succinosciara MOH. & ROSCH. gen. nov. with the typespecies Succinosciara acuminata spec. nov., the subgenus ProtolycoriellaMOH. & ROSCH. subgen. nov. with Lycoriella (Protolycoriella) gigaspina spec. nov. as the typespecies and additional 12 new species are described and drawn. 14 of the species from Saxonian amber are also known from Baltic amber.
