Abstract

Diaphragmatic paralysis in infants and children is a rare disease entity which frequently occurs following cardiac surgery. It usually complicates the respiratory care of patients recovered from operation. Early diagnosis and appropriate management are important for the prevention of complications associated with diaphragmatic paralysis. If recognized early and instituted appropriate management, prognosis of diaphragmatic paralysis is usually good.
