This research develops a virtual reality-based game with an ethnomathematics approach to Batam City culture in the form of Luti Gendang food in learning social arithmetic material in mathematics learning at the elementary school level. This product's development is significant because students are now a digitally native generation and are more interested in learning through technological media than traditional media. Using the ADDIE model as a basis, this research will focus on the development stage, which includes 3 steps, namely (1) initial product design in the form of making storyboards, making learning videos with Adobe Premiere Pro, designing image designs for VR displays, and making learning videos; (2) initial product development focuses on making VR games and conducting validation tests by experts covering the feasibility of material, media, and language to determine the feasibility of the media being developed, and (3) refining the initial product by making revisions and improvements based on the results of the validation test. The development findings demonstrate that: (1) The initial product design incorporates five key menus—VR Simulation, Material, Video, Quiz, and Info; (2) The expert evaluations of the product’s feasibility across media, language, and content aspects yielded average scores of 85.2, 80.8, and 83.1, respectively, classifying the product’s overall feasibility as excellent; and (3) Subsequent refinements were implemented based on expert validation and user testing feedback, specifically targeting interactivity enhancements, improvements to VR visual elements, and adjustments to in-VR narrations and directional cues.

This study aims to evaluate the level of feasibility and user response to the Mahilung Mobile Learning (M-Learning) application as an ethno-edugames media based on Dayak cultural values in Game-Based Learning (GBL) in elementary schools. The research method was evaluative with a quantitative descriptive design supported by qualitative analysis of open-ended comments. The evaluation was conducted in two stages: expert validation and limited trials. Validation involved material and media experts. The implementation trial involved six teachers and 31 fifth-grade students from two elementary schools selected purposively. The research instruments included an expert validation sheet, teacher and student response questionnaires, and an observation sheet. The results showed that Mahilung was categorized as “very suitable,” with validation scores from material experts of 96% and media experts of 90%. Teacher responses reached 88% and student responses 92%, both of which fall into the “very good” category. Qualitative feedback confirmed that Mahilung is engaging, easy to use, and relevant to the local cultural context. It was also found that using the application can help increase student engagement and understanding in game-based thematic learning. Mahilung contributes as an effective digital learning media to support the implementation of GBL, increase student engagement, and support teachers in strengthening local cultural literacy in elementary schools. This research, which integrates ethno-edugames based on Dayak cultural values into GBL at the elementary school level, is novel and contributes empirical evidence regarding the feasibility, user acceptance, and cultural relevance of local digital media, thus enriching the study of culture-based learning in Indonesian education.

Development of Radiographer Performance Assessment Instruments in the Radiology Installation of Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung Province
  • Nov 30, 2023
  • Journal of Social Research
  • Sri Soraya + 2 more

At Abdul Moeloek Regional General Hospital in Lampung Province, evaluating radiographers' performance is crucial for ensuring quality radiology services. The current assessment tools for ongoing professional practice and work behavior lack clear, objective indicators and targets. This research uses research and development (R&D) research methods with a quasi-experimental posttest-only non-equivalent control group design. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and FGD. Expert validation and design improvements are conducted, followed by a trial involving 20 radiographers. Validity is tested using corrected items to total correlation, and reliability is assessed using Cronbach's alpha. Next, expert validation tests and design improvements were carried out by 3 experts, and then a limited trial of 20 RSUDAM radiographers carried out a validity test using corrected items to total correlation. Meanwhile, the reliability test uses Cronbach's alpha. The developed instrument, based on indicators and targets, demonstrates valid and reliable measures of radiographer performance. Expert validation through FGD confirms the instrument's effectiveness. Validity test results indicate significance (> 0.05), and reliability tests show Cronbach's alpha values (> 0.60). Normality tests reveal non-distributed data (p-value < 0.05). The Wilcoxon test, comparing old and new instruments, yields a significant Asymp.sig value (0.000) for the discipline variable, indicating improved performance assessment.
