Abstract

Due to the rapid development of the Internet, the number of deployed telecommunication networks is increasing, while the share of networks with wireless access is also growing. The development and popularization of IP-telephony resulted in a rapid increase in subscribers of this type of communication. In this situation, there is a need for the new tools to accelerate the design of new telecommunication networks. The purpose of this research is to create a mathematical model of the flow of speech packets in telecommunication networks with wireless access. The work is of practical importance, since the proposed mathematical model can be used in the process of reckoning and designing of new local wireless telecommunication networks. The model can be integrated into a more complex system that describes the processes inside the wireless equipment for the network access. The analysis of the connection establishment in the transmission of speech information in telecommunication networks with wireless access of the IEEE 802.11 standard and the analysis of the operation of the OSI model protocols at each layer are fulfilled in relation with the establishment of the connection. In preparation for the mathematical model construction numerical characteristics of the speech packet flow in a local telecommunications network with wireless access were obtained through practical studies.
