Abstract
Wireless sensor networks (WSN), as a new information acquisition and processing technology in target tracking, intrusion detection, positioning and other related fields, has broad application prospects. Multidimensional Scaling, which can be run in both range-based and range-free conditions, and pr oved to achieve high accuracy in range-based cases, is attracting a lot of researches. In this paper, we review the development of WSNs and the location based on MDS-MAP algorithm. MDS-MAP is an inherently centralized algorithm and is therefore of limited utility in many applications. We summarize the improvements that have been made over the past 20 years, and make a comparison of various methods.
