Development of an Interactive E-Module Based on Project-Based Learning to Improve English Speaking Skills for Seventh Grade Junior High School Students
This article presents the development of an interactive e-module based on Project-Based Learning (PBL) aimed at enhancing English speaking skills for Grade VII students of Junior High School (SMP). Speaking skills are critical for students in the 21st century, and traditional print-based modules often fail to provide opportunities for meaningful interaction. This research employs a research and development (R&D) approach with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The needs of students were analyzed during the Define phase, while content, project tasks, and interactive media were designed during the Design phase. The module was developed using a digital platform and integrated with the PBL cycle, allowing students to engage in authentic projects such as vlogs, drama, interviews, and presentations. Expert validation showed that the designed e-module is feasible for use; practitioners and students found it practical and effective (Amini, 2022). PBL has proven to enhance motivation, self-confidence, creativity, and speaking fluency (Luh et al., 2017), thus the integration of PBL in the e-module is expected to encourage active student participation.

The background of the research was due to the COVID-19 pandemic which was not over yet and the need for teaching materials that could be used digitally. This is of course based on the results of a need assessment or analysis of product needs in the two schools that are partners in this research. The product that appears in this study is a digital module that contains narrative text material for seventh grade students of junior high school. The purpose of this research is to find out; 1) the stages in developing a digital module for narrative text material for seventh grade junior high school students, 2) the feasibility of developing a digital module for narrative text material for seventh grade junior high school students, 3) implementing digital module development for seventh grade junior high school students. The type of research used in this research is research and development with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The research subjects are validators in the form of media experts, material experts, learning experts (users), and students. While the object of this research is the development of a digital module containing narrative text material for seventh grade students of junior high school. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used in this study uses quantitative-descriptive analysis, because it presents data from the validation results in the form of numbers and describes the stages in product development in the form of digital modules. The results of this study are as follows, showing that the teaching materials that have been developed can be categorized as "Very Appropriate". This is evidenced by the results of the average score obtained from the experts, amounting to 97.6. The average score obtained from media experts is 106, from material experts is 96, and from teaching experts (teachers as users) is 92. The results of student responses to digital modules that have been implemented are 95.5. Based on this explanation, it can be concluded that research on the development of digital modules for narrative text material for seventh grade students of junior high school is expected to be able to use this digital module optimally in the process of teaching and learning activities and of course it can improve the quality of the process and learning outcomes in narrative texts.

English is one of the subjects taught to students since elementary school. In this study, researchers conducted research on seventh grade junior high school students. The problems found are low speaking skills and students need improvement in English learning media. Researchers conducted research focused on speaking skills in descriptive text material. Researchers use flashcards media that are processed and updated in use during learning, which are packaged in one ink's Kit media package. The purpose of this study was to develop flashcards to teach speaking skills to seventh grade junior high school students. The researcher used simple random sampling. The subjects of this study were students of SMPN 2 Doko Class VII D as many as 35 students and 2 teachers. The data analysis technique used was qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data were taken from observations, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative data is taken from the perception test. From the results of the perception test, it was found that the product was feasible to be used for learning students' speaking skills. Based on the Likert Scale in the perception test, it was found that 88.75% of students' perceptions with information strongly agree on the use of the product as a medium for learning English in descriptive text material. The results of the teacher's perception of the use of the developed product strongly agree that is equal to 85.3%. The results of the material validation assessment on the product were found to be 88.2% with information very suitable for use in learning. The results of the media validation assessment were found to be 81.1% with information very suitable for use in learning. The result of the research that by playing INK’s Kit Media can be used to improve their speaking skill.

This study aims to describe the reading literacy of seventh grade junior high school students and fifth semester science education students in solving science problems through the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) questions. This research is a quantitative descriptive study involving 248 respondents consisting of 166 seventh grade students of junior high school and 82 fifth semester students of Science Education Study Program. The research instrument used was a test sheet that included indicators of reading literacy ability which consisted of eight main questions with multiple choice and complex multiple-choice questions. The questions on the instrument include literacy questions on infographics, narrative literacy, and table data literacy. The results showed that the reading literacy of the fifth semester students of the Science Education Study Program on this topic were not significantly better than the literacy skills of seventh grade students of junior high school.

<p>Numeracy skills or numeracy literacy is a basic competency that is important for junior high school students to master in facing the challenges of the 21st century and the Industrial 5.0 era. However, PISA 2023 data shows that Indonesian students are still ranked low in math skills, reflecting students' weak numeracy skills. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Android-based Andro Poster learning media in improving the numeracy skills of grade VII junior high school students. The research uses a pre-experimental quantitative method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 30 students in grades VII-9 of junior high school who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument was in the form of a numeracy multiple-choice test of 10 items, which was developed based on indicators of numeracy ability in the submaterial of algebraic forms. Data were obtained through pretest and posttest, then analyzed using paired sample t-tests and effect sizes (Cohen's d). The results showed that the average posttest score (72.87) increased significantly compared to the pretest (60.97), with a p value of &lt; 0.001. The correlation between pretest and posttest of 0.865 shows a very strong relationship. In addition, Cohen's d value of -2.905 indicates a very large measure of effect on students' improved numeracy skills. Andro's Poster Media successfully presents algebra material visually, contextually, and interactively, so that it can increase students' motivation to learn and understand. This study concludes that the use of Android-based learning media such as Poster Andro is an effective and innovative strategy in improving the numeracy skills of junior high school students. This finding is expected to be a practical solution in mathematics learning as well as contribute to the development of digital media that is adaptive to the learning needs of students in the digital era.</p>

Textbooks have been found to have weaknesses, affecting the curriculum, approaches, methods, and teaching materials. Therefore, changes need to be made to achieve maximum learning outcomes. The objective of the study was to investigate the perception of teachers and students towards English teaching materials that followed a pragmatic perspective as a learning resource to build the communicative competence of junior high school students. Quantitative research with data collection using a 5-scale Linker questionnaire was used to measure the English for Junior High School Students: Pragmatics Based textbook. There were 9 teachers and 82 students who filled out 20 questions about their perceptions. The results showed that the teacher’s perceptions were: feasibility of content/material (61%), presentation in books (63%), language (59%) and dialogue content conformity (50%). Meanwhile, the student’s perception questions included adjustments to students’ abilities. These were the vocabulary used in the book, dialogues contained in the book, easy-to-understand instructions and exercises. The results showed that 50% of student respondents felt that the textbook was very appropriate. Hence, it can be concluded that the content of the English textbook with a pragmatic perspective was appropriate for seventh grade junior high school students in Semarang.

This research was aimed to (1) determine the effect of using google classroom media on th eonline science learning on environmental pollution material towards the learning interest of class VII junior high school students (2) know the effect of using google classroom media on the online science learning on environmental pollution material towards seven grade students of junior high school students achievement (3) know the correlation between interested in learning and learning achievement in online science learning on environmental pollution material for seven grade students of junior high school. The design used in this study was a quasi-experimental type with Posttest-Only Control Design. The population of this study was the entire seventh grade of SMP Negeri 6 Magelang for the academic year 2020/2021 with the total of 6 classes. The sampling technique used was probability sampling technique with the type of simple random sampling. The sample in the study was class VII E and VII F. The results showed that there was an effect of using google classroom media on the online science learning about environmental pollution material on towards the learning interest of seventh grade junior high school students with a high category, there was an effect of using google classroom media on the online science learning environmental pollution material towards learning achievement of seventh grade students. Middle school was in the medium category and there was a correlation between interested in learning and learning achievement on theonline science learning on environmental pollution material for class VII SMP with a strong category.

This study aims to produce a guide to improve teacher competency in guidance and counseling in developing social intelligence of seventh grade junior high school students, which consists of: (1) service syllabus and plan for implementing guidance and counseling services, (2) teacher guidance, (3) material services, and (4) evaluation guidelines. The procedure for developing a 5-step guide is: (1) analyzing the product to be developed, (2) developing the initial product, (3) expert validation and revision, (4) small-scale field testing and product revision, and (5) trial large scale field and final product. Based on the results of expert validation data analysis, small group test data and large group tests, as well as product revisions based on the results of data analysis that has been obtained, guidance and counseling service guides can be produced that have criteria for developing social intelligence of seventh grade junior high school students. This guide consists of (1) service syllabus and plan for implementing guidance and counseling services, (2) teacher guidance, (3) service material, and (4) evaluation guidelines. It is expected that the guidance and counseling teachers can use this guide in carrying out guidance and counseling services for the development of students' social intelligence, especially seventh grade junior high school students.

This research produces mathematics learning tools in the form of syllabus, lesson plans (RPP), and student worksheets (LKPD) based on the Problem Based Learning model of social arithmetic material for seventh-grade junior high school students. This study uses a 4-D development model which includes four stages, namely: (1) define (define); (2) design (planning); (3) develop (development); and (4) spread (spread). The research instrument used is the instrument of validity and practicality. The validity instrument is in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, lesson plans, and LKPD. The practicum instrument is in the form of a student response questionnaire to use LKPD. The learning tools that have been compiled are then validated by three validators and revised according to suggestions from the validators. The valid learning tools were then tested in the readability test with four seventh grade junior high school students and a small group trial with nine junior high school class VII students as the subject. Based on the data analysis and discussion results, mathematics learning tools in the form of syllabus, lesson plans, and LKPD based on Problem-Based Learning models on social arithmetic material are considered very valid and practical to be used by class VII junior high school students.

A study on implementing authentic assessment program through workshop was conducted to investigate the improvement of the competence of science teachers in designing performance assessment in real life situation at school level context. A number of junior high school science teachers and students as participants were involved in this study. Data was collected through questionnaire, observation sheets, and pre-and post-test during 4 day workshop. This workshop had facilitated them direct experience with seventh grade junior high school students during try out. Science teachers worked in group of four and communicated each other by think-pair share in cooperative learning approach. Research findings show that generally the science teachers’ involvement and their competence in authentic assessment improved. Their knowledge about the nature of assessment in relation to the nature of science and its instruction was improved, but still have problem in integrating their design performance assessment to be implemented in their lesson plan. The 7th grade students enjoyed participating in the science activities, and performed well the scientific processes planned by group of science teachers. The response of science teachers towards the workshop was positive. They could design the task and rubrics for science activities, and revised them after the implementation towards the students. By participating in this workshop they have direct experience in designing and trying out their ability within their professional community in real situation towards their real students in junior high school.

Scientific literacy was chosen as the main goal of science education. As the main goal, scientific literacy in science education is a picture of success in science education carried out by each country. In Indonesia, policies have been taken to support this goal although it is not clearly explained. To find out the success of science learning in the city of Cirebon, the researchers felt the need to analyze the scientific literacy skills of students in the city of Cirebon before providing concrete solutions to the problems faced. This study aims to provide an overview of the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students in Cirebon City. The research design used is quantitative research that uses descriptive (descriptive-quantitative) methods, namely research whose descriptions use size, number or frequency. The study was conducted on 7th grade students at the Cirebon City State Junior High School. The sample used was purposive sampling. The sample selected was State Junior High School with A and B accreditation. The scientific literacy ability in this study was viewed from the aspect of competence, knowledge and context. Based on the results of data processing, as many as 72.13% of seventh grade junior high school students in the city of Cirebon have scientific literacy skills in a very low category. This scientific literacy becomes a reference in applying the ability and quality of science learning in Cirebon City.

The objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of learning English for junior high school students on local Indonesian literature in English, listening and understanding the content of English language skills based on the popular Indonesian folktale "Timun Emas" uploaded on Andree Rivan Kurniawan's YouTube channel. This study was conducted at State Junior High School (SMP) of 5 Rakit Kulim from August to October 2021 for 20 of seventh grade junior high school students and 26 of the eighth grade students. Based on the results of this study, the values of character education implied in the Timun Mas video story were religious, honest, creative, independent, curious, communicative, hardworking, peace-loving, socially caring, and responsible. The results of this research on the effectiveness of YouTube's animated video learning media reveal that students maintain a positive attitude about learning English through animated videos. Students stated that animated films not only help them improve their listening and speaking skills, but also aid them in learning English vocabulary and sentence structure. This study's findings also imply that animated movies provide junior high school English teachers with extensive English vocabulary and sentence structures, as well as boost learning through engaging activities in English teaching.

This research aims to develop interactive learning media to help students understand healthy lifestyle behaviour in physical education for D-phase students in class VII and Evaluate the Effectiveness of Learning Media to evaluate how effective interactive learning media can help students understand healthy lifestyle behaviours in Physical education phase-D Class VII.This type of research is a development Research and Development (R&D) through quantitative methods. This method was determined based on data collection techniques carried out during the product development process. Through this research using the ASSURE model and has six stages ; Analyze Learner, State Objectives, Select methods, media, and materials, Utilize media and materials, Require learner participation, Evaluate and Revise.. The findings of this study were piloted with seventh grade junior high school students in Serang and Pandeglang districts. Based on random sampling technique, four junior high schools were obtained. The subjects in the small-scale test were 31 students and the large-scale test was 60 students and the research sample was 36 students.The results of this research are in the form of an android application as an interactive multimedia for healthy lifestyles. The mean result is 0.5617 which means it is included in the medium group. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the learning media for physical education sports and health material on healthy lifestyles based on android for junior high school class VII is effective for increasing students understanding of sports and health subject matter, with an average pre-test score of 47.77 and an average post-test score of 77.00. Based on results in the conclusion that this Android-based interactive learning media for physical education is good or feasible enough for students.

The mathematical problem solving ability of Indonesian students is not high yet. The aim of this study is to see the students’ mathematical problem solving enhancement after three different cooperative learning strategies were implemented, and to compare the results. The research design is comparative study. The samples in this study are three classes of the seventh grade junior high school (SMP) students. The group of students experience different cooperative learning strategy. The first group experience Students Teams Achievement Division (STAD), the second group JIGSAW II, and the third group experience Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning strategy. Comparative study were conducted partially and overall. The study found that there were mathematical problem solving enhancement in those three group of students. Furthermore, there were differences in the students problem solving enhancement among those groups of students, partially and overall.

Football is a sport that requires a combination of good physical, technical, and tactical skills. One of the important technical skills in football is dribbling, which is the ability to control and manipulate the ball with the feet. Improving dribbling skills is a major focus in physical training for junior high school students, because it not only improves individual performance but also the overall contribution of the team in the game. This study explored the effects of two different training methods, namely circuit training and interval training, on the dribbling skills of junior high school students. Good dribbling skills are a crucial aspect in the technical development of football players at their developmental stage. Using an experimental approach, students were randomly selected to participate in training twice a week for 10 weeks. Dribbling ability evaluations were conducted before and after the training period to compare the effects of the two training methods. These findings are expected to provide deeper insight into the effectiveness of technical training in improving junior high school students’ dribbling skills in an educational setting.
