Abstract

Recent technological advancements have popularized flexible sensors, which can function as highly sensitive electronic skin, detecting motions and pressure with precision. By utilizing a Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) base to encapsulate the functional layer, this paper demonstrates a flexible strain sensor fabricated on Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) base encapsulating the functional layer. In this paper, a strain sensor using functional materials Graphene Nanoplatelets (GNP) and PDMS substrate has been proposed and fabricated. The proposed sensor has been analyzed in terms of sensitivity, stability, response time and human compatibility. This sensor showed improved stretchability, flexibility and sensing performance, which can detect both fine and large strains with stability and repeatability. Human compatibility test revealed that it finds application in wearable electronics, biomedical equipment etc.
