Abstract

This paper describes a research programme which will model the two-way macro-economic links between OECD regions and four major developing country blocs: Latin America, Africa, Asian NICs and other Asia. Fully specified time series macro-econometric models will be built for each of these regions and embedded within an existing global econometric model. The text below describes the key interactions between the OECD and LDCs, including the effects of LDC growth and LDC adjustment on the global economy. It describes the policy questions regarding OECD macro-economic policies, LDC policies and financial market policies in the OECD.
