Abstract
Lower Carboniferous limestones from the Kilmaclenine area, Co. Cork, contain magmatic muscovites, individual granitic minerals and granitic fragments. These constitute primary evidence for the presence of buried granites to explain various geological and geophysical observations in southwest Ireland.
