Method: The research was conducted in descriptive type between March-April 2022. The universe of the research consisted of 456 active students enrolled in the Spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year at Ardahan University Vocational School of Health Services. The sample of the study consisted of 283 students who voluntarily participated in the research. Research data were collected with the “Introductory Form” and “Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale”. Research data were analyzed with SPSS 26 package program. Number, percentage, mean and multiple regression analysis were used in data analysis. Results: The self-esteem score of the participants was found to be 20.123±5.31. In the regression analysis of the participants’ self-esteem, the main variables were determined as the economic status of the family, the educational status of the father, and the state of choosing the department willingly. As a result of the analysis, the model was found to be significant (F:2.448, p < 0.001). The adjusted R2 value was 0.089 and the explanatory power of the model was 8.9%. Conclusion and Recommendations: As a result of the research, it was determined that the self-esteem of the participants was above the medium level, and their self-esteem was affected by the economic status, education level of the father, and willingly choosing the department. Low self-esteem can prevent individuals from directing their plans for the future and progressing comfortably when they start working life. For this reason, it is thought that more studies should be conducted to reveal the self-esteem of university students and the factors affecting it, and the attempts that can be made to increase low self-esteem.
