Abstract

For a long time, the increase in energy consumption was considered an indicator of economic and social progress. However, most of the energy used, such as oil and natural gas, will be exhausted shortly. And radical replacement hasn't been found yet. Therefore, it is necessary to more economically handle the raw materials and strive to use renewable energy sources. Up to 70% of the territory of Russia is located in decentralized energy supply zones. Therefore, it is important to consider the sources of autonomous energy supply and their applications. Operating modes related to the seasonality of production and weather conditions have a significant impact. All this is reflected in actual loads. If the networks are designed for maximum utilization. In fact, most of the time they operate in the modes of 20-30% of the load. In this case, the losses become commensurate with the usable energy. This is another argument for the use of autonomous energy sources in addition to centralized schemes, and sometimes a complete transition to autonomous energy supply. It should be noted that the use of autonomous energy supply systems, instead of or together with centralized ones, contributes to solving both economic and environmental problems. The autonomous energy sources include gas turbine and gas piston plants, solar panels and a wind generator, diesel and gasoline generators. Each of these installations has several advantages, and the choice of a particular installation depends on many parameters. Some autonomous energy sources are presented in this article. Their advantages and disadvantages are considered, as well as applications. There is a summary table that allows you to see and compare their characteristics.
