Abstract

The main process in oil and gas production is the extraction of hydrocarbons to the surface. In all methods of oil production, hydrocarbons are transported through tubing from the bottom of the well to the wellhead. The methods of oil production are classified based on factors such as reservoir pressure, physical properties of oil, and reservoir properties of the productive formation. These methods include: – Flowing method: In this method, oil naturally rises to the surface under the pressure of reservoir energy. – Gas lift method: Oil is lifted to the surface by injecting gas into the well. – Pumping method: Also known as mechanized method, oil is brought to the surface with the aid of pumps. In the present study, the stress state in the formation zone at the bottom hole was examined, and the critical values of the bottom hole pressure and formation flow rate were determined.
