Abstract

The incidence of cervical cancer is still quite high and is influenced by early detection behavior which is still low. Some Community Health Centers in Polewali Mandar Regency already have an IVA testing program, but their performance is still poor due to the lack of motivation of mothers to carry out early detection. Method: Reproductive Organ Examination (ROSE) is a simple method that mothers can do themselves to find out if there are problems with their reproductive organs. Health education should be carried out to increase mothers' knowledge and attitudes about cervical cancer. The aim of this community service is to improve the behavior of mothers in Polewali Mandar Regency, this time it is applied in early detection of cervical cancer in Bonde Village, Polewali Mandar Regency using the IVA method and ROSE technique. Followed by information about cervical cancer and ROSE as well as education on the importance of VIA examinations, followed by a question and answer session with participants. Results: This community service resulted in increased knowledge and attitudes of mothers regarding early detection of cervical cancer. Several mothers who were able to answer questions related to IVA and wanted an IVA examination showed increased motivation after counseling. Conclusion: Training on early detection of cervical cancer using the ROSE method can increase public awareness of early detection in an effort to fight cervical cancer. After completing this community service, mothers are expected to continue to carry out routine early detection, supported by the active role of cadres and health workers.
