Abstract

Malignant melanoma is the third most common malignant skin neoplasia and may manifest itself by a number of clinical-pathologic features: - lentigo malignant melanoma, superficial spreading melanoma, nodular melanoma, acral lentiginous melanoma, amelanotic melanoma, desmoplastic neurotropic melanoma, mucosal melanoma, anorectal melanoma (Braun-Falco et al. 1991). The clinical appearance of desmoplastic neurotropic melanoma (DNM) is quite confusing and usually is not diagnosed prior to histopathological examination.
