Abstract

Existing designs of corona elements used in the corona electrodes of electrostatic precipitators are briefly reviewed. Requirements are set forth for corona electrodes, and corona elements are examined. A formula is proposed for evaluation of the influence exerted by the ignition voltage of the corona discharge on variation in degree of cleaning of gases when obsolete corona electrodes are replaced by corona electrodes with type SF-1 elements.
