Abstract

This article describes some tools that provide practical help for organizations when planning and evaluating new forms of work organization within modern working environments. Although tools exist for this purpose, they are not widely adopted. Methods need to be accessible to organizations and more descriptive examples of their application are required. Moreover, evaluation of the impact of changes made as a consequence of using such tools is necessary, but rare. We illustrate some tools for design and evaluation within a case study in order to address some of these issues. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
