In the contemporary educational landscape, the need for effective and adaptable evaluation tools is increasingly critical. This study embarked on designing an innovative educational framework for the topic 'How We Live and Grow' using the Research and Development (R&D) method, articulated through the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The objective was to develop a multifaceted instrument that supports primary education by bridging theoretical knowledge and practical application across cognitive domains from basic knowledge (C1) to creative synthesis (C6). The methodology involved collaborative design with educators, iterative development, and rigorous expert validation. Results showed that the framework successfully produced 20 multiple-choice questions, validated with high scores ranging from 86.25% to 91.25% by material and language experts, affirming the tool's reliability and educational value. This study not only enhanced the quality of teaching through tailored, context-relevant assessments but also contributed to educational research by developing a validated instrument that effectively measures and supports diverse cognitive skills in real-world settings. The framework's potential for broad application suggests a significant impact on shaping future educational practices and assessments.

The aim of this research is to describe the results of expert validation of ethnoscience-based teaching materials to develop student competence in critical thinking and caring attitudes. Expert validation in this research is part of the development of ethnoscience-based teaching materials to develop student competence in critical thinking and caring attitudes using the 4D model. This model includes stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate so that it will produce ethnoscience-based teaching materials that are valid, practical and effective in developing students' competence in critical thinking and caring attitudes. Expert validation is included in the Develop stage. Validation of ethnoscience-based teaching materials to develop students' competence in critical thinking and caring attitudes was carried out by 3 experts, namely material experts, media experts and language experts. The research results show that the assessment from material experts is 96.7, media experts are 90.5, and language experts are 100. Thus, the average value of expert validation assessments is 95.7, including the Very Valid criteria. The product, in the form of ethnoscience-based teaching materials to develop students' competence in critical thinking and caring attitudes, was revised based on input from validators. The results of product revisions before and after validation are divided into 5 things, namely: 1) Adding indicators and numbering to Basic Competencies; 2) Improvements to tables that were previously scanned from source or reference books were revised by creating tables manually. The table has also been assigned a sequential number; 3) Addition of photos and videos related to ethnoscience; 4) Ethnoscience-based investigative activities; 5) Changes in the appearance and form of the formative tests available at the end of each chapter.

The development of this module is motivated by several difficulties experienced by students in the learning process. Some of these difficulties are that students do not understand the teaching materials that used, besides that, students are also less interested in teaching materials that used in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to produce products in the form of modules that are suitable for use, and overcome the difficulties experienced by students. The type of development research that used in this study is the 4D model suggested by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel (1974). The 4D model has 4 stages namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate, but this research is only carried out until the Develop stage. This developed product has been validated by experts for 2 times. The results obtained from the first stage of validation were design and language experts got the score of 81% with the criteria of "Good", material experts were 81.84% with the criteria of "Good". The results of the second stage of validation are design and language experts and got the result of 88.42% with the criteria "Very Good", 85.63% point of material experts with the criteria "Very Good" and small group trials obtained results of 83.83% with the criteria "Good". Based on the results of expert validation and small group trials, the product in the form of modules developed has been appropriate for students to use without revision.

One of the challenges of teaching English for Science students in Indonesia is the training to comprehend science content in English. They need to have the skill to improve their science development knowledge by exploring it through latest information from scientific journals and text books. In fact, most of the students have limited English proficiency that results in the limited variety source of their literature references. Their pre-test result was not satisfactory by only reaching the average of 67. To overcome the problem, the workbook that integrated English skill and science content was developed to support the learning process. The design of research was Research and Development consisting of conducting need analysis, designing product, expert validation, revising product, trial in small scale level, and using the product in the learning process. The instrument to gather the data was the validation sheet for the expert containing indicators of valid criteria of workbook from the aspect of the material, language and media, the students' response questionnaire related to the use of workbook and science content in English test. The data were analyzed descriptively based on the data obtained from the research. The validation from the experts of language, material and media to produce a valid and feasible product showed that the workbook was feasible to be used as instructional material. The result showed that the expert of material, language and media gave the score of respectively 100, 92 and 92. The workbook also proved to be effective to improve the students' mastery of science content in English material with the average of 80. The workbook entitled Science plus English was designed to revise the previous instructional material and it has never been developed as instructional material.
