Abstract
AbstractThe objective of this paper is to provide the reader with a documentation of the history of the development, including the language, of the provisions in the United States Building Codes for the design review of buildings in earthquake country. This paper also presents personal comments by the author about the development and intent of the provisions. The paper also presents suggestions for future improvement.
