Abstract

In this paper, a novel compact band pass filter (BPF) is proposed for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) (2.2GHz - 2.6GHz) Application. The proposed BPF configuration is composed of a low pass filter (LPF). The transformation is due to the introduction of DMS structures (Defected trip Micros Structure) on the two micro strip lines. The lumped equivalent model of proposed BPF is also presented and analyzed. The resulting filter has been found to possess a compact size of 20mm×20mm. The measured filter performances are |S21| less than 0.5dB, |S11| more than 60dB, and center frequency of proposed filter is around 2.4GHz. The simulations in this work were performed using CST microwave software, whose calculations are based on The Finite Integration Technique (FIT) and ADS (Agilent Advanced Design System) are based on the Method of Moments (MOM).
