Abstract

A Novel ultra-wide band (UWB) band pass filter (BPF) with triple notch bands using embedded quarter wavelength stubs is presented. The Ultra wide band filter structure consists five short circuited quarter wavelength stubs are placed at quarter wave length apart for achieving filter characteristics in frequency band between 3.1 to 10.6 GHz. Three quarter wavelength stubs are embedded in the feed line to provide notch at 4.4 GHz, 5.6GHz and 8GHz. The proposed filter structure is simulated using substrate GML1000 of dielectric constant 3.2 with height 0.762mm on electromagnetic circuit simulator. Simulated Frequency response exhibits multi band filter response I band (3.1–4.3 GHz), II band (4.5–5.5GHz), III band (5.8–7.8GHz) and IV band (8.2–10.6GHz) in the UWB band.
