Abstract

For the problem of polarization control connection with phase compensation, which will be difficult to get the precise element size when designing circularly polarized reflect array with linearly polarized feed. We propose the optimization design ideas to convert the polarization control into phase compensation, then, derive the polarized transformation reflect array element shall meet ideal conditions of independence and symmetry. A prime-focus 196-element reflect array with dual-layer double-cross-shaped element has been designed and implemented. The measured results show that the obtained 1-dB gain bandwidth and 3-dB axial-ratio bandwidth of the reflect array can reach as large as 24% and 35%, respectively, and aperture efficiency is up to 48.7%.
