Abstract

In a power plant dynamic changes in power demand is a disturbance in both power transmission system and distribution system. A control system needs to be designed in order to obtain both constant power frequency and stable output voltage. In this paper, Fuzzy Modified Model Reference Adaptive Controller (FMRAC) is developed for Montazer Ghaem power plant gas turbine (GE9001E). While developing a controller for the identified model in order to control rotor speed of a turbine through manipulation of fuel flow during startup and during changes in power demand. The simulation results are obtained in MATLAB Simulink. As per simulation results proposed FMRAC Mechanism shows better transient response as compared to MRAC and PID controller.
