Abstract

In this paper, a broadband planar monopulse antenna of S band is presented. The wideband planar magic-T as the feed network and the multilayer antenna element as the radiation part have been designed. The proposed monopulse antenna can obtain one dimensional monopulse performance. The monopulse antenna considered here can realize sum-and-difference performance in the H plane. The simulated results have demonstrated that the impedance bandwidth (VSWR⩽2) is up to 13.6% and the null depth is below −28.6dB which range from 3.05GHz to 3.5GHz. The peak gain of the sum beam is up to 11dB. The proposed monopulse antenna can be widely applied in radar and other communication systems.
