Abstract

With the developement of scientists' research on earth activities and its dynamic processes, the demand for seismic wave detection has gradually increased. However, unbalanced geographic data coverage has limited seismic tomography research worldwide. In order to solve this problem, the concept of floating marine seismic observation system is proposed. To solve this problem, the concept of a floating ocean seismic observation system is proposed. The floating ocean seismic observation system studied in this paper is mainly used for long-term monitoring of ocean seismic P waves with a frequency band of 0.05 - 10 Hz and working depth of 0 - 1000 m. Unlike the conventional stationary land seismic stations and submersible ocean bottom seismographs (OBS), the floating ocean seismic observation system suspended in the seawater at a desired working depth relies on a variable buoyancy device, and it will float to the sea surface for communication when data transmission is required. Experiments show that OBS can receive seismic waves in the deep-sea.
