Abstract

ABSTRACT The paper summarizes some of the results obtained by an investigation made on a new disc-type micromotor. Starting by the description of the special design features of the motor, a mathematical model using space vectors is introduced, taking into account all the harmonic content of the air-gap flux-density distribution. Consequently, motor performances at steady-state are evaluated. Particular attention is paid to some quantities of specific interest for the design, such as and mechanical strains on each etched stator bar and on the outer ring.
